Although I've actually met L.K.H and slutty isn't really the first word that comes to mind when you see her in person. Nerdy (yet very strict and proper) h.s. English teacher with a habit of taking off her glasses and chewing on the ends while she is thinking about some passage in Shakespeare. I don't know why she took the series in a noise-dive towards sluttsville, but at least she hasn't fucked up the Faerie series yet.

yerp. And I kinda love the whole super slut thing, but the whole angst factor occasionally gets more whiny than angsty and drives me nuts. Not that I'm not addicted, but take a little joy in all the hot boys, dammit! Which is why I totally loved Merry from the beginning - you get all the fab sex and major appreciation of beauty, plus great intrigue, and none of the catholic guilt. Not saying that I won't continue to buy Anita novels though. Yes, I am a deeply confused person.

LOL, no, I totally know what you mean! I think I actually started off liking the Anita series much better, because at one time I could relate to Anita... She's strong, independant, outspoken, and she doesn't trust easily... But as time went on, and they focused less on her personality and more on what she likes in bed (although we have that in common too :D) I didn't feel like there was as much of a reason to read... But Merry, like you said... Well, she just is... And there's no remorse. If you're banging like, 12 of the hottest men in town and you're still not happy, you have a serious problem.
