Things you should NOT do if you are a scientist

And create an artificial intelligence by accident or by intention:

• do NOT make an AI that is smarter than you


• do NOT put emotional subroutines into your AI's memory banks


• do NOT place the AI in charge of your nuclear missiles


• do NOT forget to place an ON/OFF switch on the AI


• do NOT make the AI jealous of you by having an affair with your sexy geeky assistant


• do NOT forget to check that some other country (like the former USSR) is not already making an AI just as smart as your AI


• If you do forget the last point, do NOT let the AI communicate with it's counterpart because it is lonely (see part above about emotional subroutines)


• If you do forget all of the above,...then you will have stepped into the totally awesome scifi movie I am currently watching:

The humans are so screwed right now. I have no idea how they are going to pull through.

Yeah! It was awesome! And you know what? The humans don't find a way out of the mess! Kind of a weird ending for an American movie made in the 70s.
