A little sheepish to be posting this - but I have a bunch of cds my friend Sally sent me which I have been ripping to MP3 - and I have been manually entering the MP3 id tags when I encode them. She sent me a lot - so this got boring really fast. Anyway - in CDex, there is a button you can click which says "Get Album information from remote CDDB". So I click the button - and the program queries something called a CDDB server which finds the album I am trying to rip - and fills in everything! Album release date, genre, all the names of the tracks, album title and artist. I mean shit....that's the coolest thing I've found online since I first discovered MP3s (well since I discovered bittorrent, MP3s happened earlier). I wonder if there is a way to create a script to go through all the MP3s I have on my harddrive and fill in their tags now? Maybe PHP has a CDDB query function......

At any rate - you can see how easy it is to amuse me =) It's pathetic....
