It seems the support she is getting is snowballing, which makes me feel happy =)

Now all we need is Willy Nelson to send a case of whiskey (that's a reference to the Texas state legislators who fled to a Holiday Inn in Oklahoma so they could skip a vote the Republicans wanted to force about redrawing congressional district lines). Willy sent a case of whiskey with a note that said simply - "Stand your ground"

Visions of steely eyed Texas liberals loading their Winchesters and peaking through gunports (or more likely channel surfing the news stations to see if the Texas Rangers were coming) danced through my head when I heard that story. Incidentally I believe the Texas Rangers were called out, which is the reason the Democrats crossed state lines. Then of course the asshole Republicans tried to enlist federal support to go after them, and....well that was about the time Willy sent the case of whiskey.

On a slightly related tangent, while I was bored waiting in line to check on the status of my financial aid, I scanned over the billboard behind me and noticed an army recruiting poster had been placed there, along with the business card for the local recruiter. I was sorely tempted to rip it down, but restrained myself for some reason. Maybe because it seemed like a futile act of defiance. Recruiting posters make me FURIOUS, though. There is one I see every time I pass the local recruiting office with this pimply faced wide-eyed innocent kid wearing a helmet looking doe-eyed and helpless at you. Underneath - the poster reads "It just feels right."

I mean what in the ever-loving fuck is that supposed to mean? What feels right? A lot of people are coming back from Iraq missing limbs and worse who would probably take issue with that right about now. Although when they enlisted, I'm sure it felt right at the time.

lol...I am reminded though of a funny conscientious objector case that happened in the Bay Area around the time the US was invading Iraq. This kid who signed up for the Marines was trying to get out by claiming he was a pacifist. A reporter asked him why he joined the Marines in the first place, since they, ummm....you know, kill people and stuff. His response was that he joined so he could wear the cool uniform and attract girls. But they never told him (not even the recruiter) that Marines actually KILLED people. He thought that only happened in movies. The Marine Corps obviously wasn't having any of it. But I actually half-believed him. And he did have a point. The recruiting posters and commercials are totally misleading. They make it look like the Boy Scouts but with cooler toys.

LOL....a FOX monitoring site

Isn't it funny that FOX makes the Simpsons? If O'Reilly had Lisa Simpson on his show, she would tell him off and he would probably call her a traitor, tell her to shut up, and cut off her mike.
Oh - and Bill thinks Cindy Sheehan's actions are treasonous. Lovely people Fox News has working for them. Some woman loses her son in Iraq, and O'Reilly is out calling her a traitor to her country because she thinks her President lied to her.
