Department of Defense/Veterans Administration educational video
which attempts to explain the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder syndrome through a retelling of the Tale of Gilgamesh.
Animation looks like Disney. What were they thinking?

There was drama today. While driving along Junction Avenue en route to community center to go swimming....I had to pull over
and dial 911. The reason being that one room of the Lantern Motel was completely engulfed in flames. For those who are not familiar with
Sturgis, SD - the Lantern is a fleabag dive on Junction which does 99% of it's business during the rally in August - and for the rest of
the year lets its rooms out to assorted drifters and other forgotten souls. My conversation with the 911 operator went thus:

Me: Could you please send some firemen to the Lantern Motel on Junction?
911 Operator: Is there a fire?
Me: Why yes, there is.
911 Operator: How fast is it moving?
Me: Oh it's proceeding quite nicely, thank you!
911 Operator: Okay sir- the fire department has been dispatched. Thank You for calling.

Absurdly - this whole conversation felt like I was ordering a pizza. "And could you please add a sprinkling of police and some EMT's as well? Thanks a bunch!"

So in spite of my call and others calling - no police or fire dept. The parking lot was chaos with people darting into their rooms to remove their suitcases
and other belongings - and some guy running past me carrying a TV (oh - forgot to mention the looters). I asked him if there was anyone in room #3 (next
to the room which was blazing away) and he shouts over his shoulder that he thought some old guy was in there. So it was kind of an eye-opening experience.
Anarchy apparently means grab as much shit as you can while you can and fuck everyone else. Went over to the door and pounded on it a couple of
times but I had to back away because the heat was too much and it was spreading pretty fast. Also - the smoke was this really toxic nasty evil looking yellow
stuff that I didn't want to get into my lungs.

Fortunately at this point a cop finally shows up and shouts at me to move my fucking car and then starts screaming at the other people darting in and out of the rooms,
so I decided to leave as quickly as possible. Still no fire department.....

Anyway...that was my adrenalin jolt for the day =) Anarchy, lawlessness, some freaked out cop screaming at me, and chaotic destruction.
My hands were still shaking when I got to the community center.
