Repopulating North America with African endagered species
Oh wow....this could be really cool, really dangerous but would most likely end up being really really weird. Some researchers believe it would be possible to do this because there are huge gaps left in the ecosystem for the Americas caused by man's arrival across the Bering Strait. We killed off all of the large predators, so they think there is room to introduce endagered predators.
Quote the article:
Other living species that could "stand in" for Pleistocene-era animals in North America include feral horses (Equus caballus), wild asses (E. asinus), Bactrian camels (Camelus bactrianus), Asian (Elephas maximus) and African (Loxodonta africana) elephants and lions (Panthera leo).
