A Bush lover freaks out about Iraq to fellow Republicans
Well, apparently they aren't all morons. Just evil, selfish pricks (at least this particular one). Anyway, although it is always good to hear from panic-stricken Republicans, I am a little creeped out by the last part of this diary:
We may need to reinstate the draft, buckle down and get in this fight for the long haul - meaning another three to five years - before Iraq is utterly consumed by the chaos that this halfhearted effort has generated. We need to mobilize the American economy and the American people around the war effort - not pull back. We're on the brink of defeat, and if we don't do something about it, we're headed over the precipice.
That sounds very similar to Vietnam era thinking. More troops solves everything! All sending in more troops ever seems to do is raise the daily body count and escalate the level of violence on both sides. We definitely do not need the draft. Unfortunately I think it's coming (probably after the 2006 elections).
