Magic Trees and 9-year olds
So I just recently acquired a digital scanner, and have been busy scanning photos from my grandmother's albums and my parent's albums and putting them online in the hope that some of my other distant relations might be able to identify some of the people in the photos.
Anyway - behind a picture of this little guy:
I found the following poem typed on an old manual typewriter. I have copied it verbatim below. Any spelling mistakes are entirely the fault of the little turd above.
There is a magic tree on top of
A high hill in the middle of a
Meadow that seems never to end
No man or animal or thing has ever
Viewed this tree, it is there though,
Just as sure as you and I are here.
This tree is magic for it is a
Picture of all trees that have ever
Exhisted, a picture into the future
And the past.
How is this tree real?
It is real for it cannot see you but
Yet knows that you are there just as
You cannot see it but know that it is
There.
Not only does this tree represent all
Trees it represents all things such as
Good and bad.
Proudly this tree has stood for all
Time and it shall continue to stand,
Forever, and ever.
