Deadwood is kind of a western about Deadwood, SD around 1876 (around the time Wild Bill Hickock was shot). Actually - more of a soap opera than a western (like all HBO shows).

I'm suprised you haven't heard of it. It's the hottest thing going on TV right now. And this season they are probably going to rake in a bunch of Emmy's.
I'm also interested in the show because my parents live about 20 miles from Deadwood SD (and so I visit it all the time when I'm home seeing them).
