Opposition to Real ID coalescing....

I hate Congress. Anyway....good article by Bruce Schneier on some of the creepy implications of a national id. The creepiest thing about the whole thing is how it was piggy-backed onto an emergency spending bill for Iraq and there was absolutely no debate concerning this. Oh - and it's an unfunded mandate...which I didn't know about. It means that the government is telling the states they have to change how they issue their drivers licenses to meet a national standard - and it is going to cost the states A LOT.

Here is hoping some 'activist' federal judges rule this whole thing is unconstitutional.
